Pangolins

A tiny little scaly boi who spawns in plains, jungles, hills, and deserts. They should be passive and do the nervous walk they do irl, and when a player gets close they should group around them and stare nervously up at them. They spawn as a group of 1 adult and a few babies, but have a very tiny chance of ever spawning in any biome. When attacked even once, they curl into a ball and become fully invincible until they despawn from player distance - this is both to represent their thick scales and also to discourage killing an adorable endangered species.

    Minecraft is doing an endangered species awareness program with mobs like the axolotl. This would be perfect since pangolins are rediculously rare and are heavily trafficked.

    I also believe pangolins would be an amazing edition to the game. Besides them being an extremely adorable creature, it would be great for awareness, just like the axolotl.

     A pangolin might tentatively drop clay. Why clay you may ask? pangolins bathe by rolling in mud! Pangolins shed their scales. shields could be made out of them. Pangolins don’t have enough recognition. I am trying to raise awareness for a 5th grade project. This animal might go extinct before most people know about it. Please think about adding the pangolin to Minecraft!

    I feel like if they ever update the savanna, the Pangolin would be perfect for it. Since it’s known for living in savannas and eat insects like ants or termites, I think it would be a great fit for the biome whenever they choose to go back to it.
