Minecraft Polinated Bees

Can pollinated bees go into their hives instead of wandering around? I don't know if this is just me but my bees keep going out for miles instead of going back to their hives. It got to a point where I have to get both of my bees on a lead and tie them to a fence near the hive until they go in. Every single time. They do recognize this as their hive but they won't go in after they're pollinated. Once I wasn't paying attention to my bees then I looked up and they were so far out over an ocean that seconds later they disappeared from my render distance.
But this might just be me I don't know.
