(Java Edition) Wall mounted target block

Since slab redirection was changed (Wires that redirect upwards to wires on non-conductive blocks used to only be redirected visually. Now, this redirection applies to their behaviour as well), a ton of creations which relied on it broken especially 5x5 doors.

Target blocks can fix some of the creations due to it being able to redirect into a piston (target block below then the piston or dropper above), but when the piston was in the target blocks place, it won't work anymore without overhauling it.

I suggest a wall mounted target block like a painting could be put on to the piston and for the redstone wire to redirect the wire into the piston so at least the old behaviour can be recreated.
