Minecraft has a lesser known feature called spawn invulnerability. This makes a player invulnerable for some time after (re)spawning. By default this is 60 ticks (3 seconds).
Currently there is no way to change this value in a Minecraft world. Spawn invulnerability can break custom maps.
It would be nice if there was a gamerule that could change this value.
Want to disable spawn invulnerability? Set it to 0. Want 10 seconds? Put it at 200.
/gamerule spawnInvulnerability <ticks>
We already have a spawnRadius gamerule, so why not a spawnInvulnerability one?
