One of the things that Minecraft does best is it's interactive environment. The freedom to completely remold the world is something you rarely see.
And yet most of the recent mobs don't take advantage of these things. Pillagers are the most standard mob ever, some attack from a short distance with a crossbow, others attack you with basic melee. And then in terms of combat, the Piglins feel like a copy paste job.
They're okay, serviceable, but think about what mobs could be. Think about how iconic the creeper has become with it's ability to blow up the environment, think of the scenarios where a creeper has blown up causing suspended gravel or sand to fall, leading to a hilarious chain reaction. This is what mobs should be, something that take advantage of the games best aspects.
I propose more mobs like this, mobs that can interact with the environment in interesting ways, like perhaps:
- A new cave mob that runs off stealing blocks of rare ore (with good rewards for your trouble of course).
- A mob that can pick up and throw blocks. It could even throw other mobs, I imagine a scenario where it picks up a creeper that's about to explode.
- A mob that spreads corruption to other blocks. The corruption damages you, but you can use water or fire to stop it.
