As soon as day 5 begins in a Minecraft world (correct me if I'm wrong,) pillager patrols are able to spawn. This chance of them spawning remains constant after this point.
While players with decent weapons and armor may be able to handle this event, some players can encounter patrols before they gain significant progress in their world.
Encountering a patrol before you are prepared can cause some issues, especially since they can deal large amounts of damage to players with low defense.
My suggestion is to tweak the spawning behavior of the pillager patrol event to make it less likely for them to spawn during earlier days.
In addition to their normal spawning rules, the following conditions could be made.
If the world is on it's 5th day, a check with a 20% chance of passing must be made per spawning attempt.
On the 6th day, a 40% chance to spawn.
7th, 60%.
8th, 80%.
On the 9th day and onward, pillager spawning acts as normal.
Pillager patrols can still spawn from day 5, but the chance of them isn't as high as later days.
Hopefully a change like this will prevent (most) unprepared patrols from spawning.
