Frogs

released

These frogs could spawn in the mountains, swamps, and plains. When killed they would drop 1 - 2 slimeballs

Edit: And now to 'released' as the Wild Update is now available!

Flipping this to 'announced' now that we're introducing frogs as part of The Wild Update next year!

I think the frog update should come with frog spawn and the frogs should drop frog spawn when you kill them.

They should be able to be tamed.

I’d enjoy this even more if the frog had a 0.1 chance of spawning with a strawberry on its head!

Allow frogs to spawn in jungles and allow them to be at their must colourful within the jungles. And the new jungle biome too.

    They could have poisoning too

Frogs should only lay eggs or give birth on slime chunks

Would be great to add storks/egrets to the game if frogs are being added. They would eat frogs and fish and would be a passive mob, so when hit they would fly away. The stork/egret would nest in the tree branches (would be cool to see trees without leaves and just have branches) or on any structure in the swamp including your house. Storks/egrets would bring life to the swamp and add a new bird to Minecraft.

I mostly want these for the ambient sound. I'm hoping that different biomes will have different frog calls, which would be loudest at night. I also hope they squeal angrily when you attack or try to scoop them into a bucket.

This checks off an ooooold wish for creatures I want for noise. Hopefully some day there will be a beach biome update with seagulls.

I literally cried tears of joy when I learned frogs were being added to Vanilla Minecraft, and I think the perfect counterpart to them would be crickets: you could catch crickets in a jar in order to feed them to frogs for breeding, and the sound of frogs and crickets all singing together is the most beautiful thing in the world!!!!
