I feel like when I play minecraft I never feel the need to farm pigs because they are easily outshined by cows because of the cows identical food source (stat wise) and in addition the dropping of leather, and sheep because of they're dropping of wool. My aim in this post is to suggest ways of making pigs more viable and in the process making them more realistic, my first idea is that carrots are an uncommon item to find (you can only get them from zombies or structures) while in reality pigs have a very wide variety of things they can consume including meat, lots of fruits and vegetables, most things that humans eat and even faeces (of course i'm not suggesting that there should be faeces added to the game as a food item) so I think that pigs should be able to eat more items like raw meat, wheat, potatoes, watermelon etc. My second idea is that pigs have a very short reproductive cycle so I suggest they should be able to breed more often maybe every three minutes instead every five. Finally, some other small changes I suggest are to be able to cast out the carrot on a stick as a distraction to the pigs (so pigs don't flood out the pen when you open the gates), the chance to get a twin when breeding animals and having it be more often in pigs ( in reference to them birthing more offspring) and also make them grow up faster then the other farm animals (which would also add more realism to the game).
Anyway, those are my suggestions on how to make pigs more viable.
