The smithing table is currently used to apply netherite with enchants. The anvil application should be moved to the crafting table, and the smithing table one to the anvil. The Smithing table would now have 4 slots on one side and 4 on another, with arrows pointing to one in the center. On the left, you would put different materials, and on the right, you would put gold. This allows you to create substances. Netherite can be made with this, but it is not the only thing.
Elder Prismarine Shards and Crystals can be made with Prismarine Shards and Crystals respectively to make Elder Prismarine, a whitish block with prismarine-like patterns. This is a decorative block.
Blackstone could be made by combining gold and basalt, and Gilded Blackstone by combining gold and Blackstone.
Gold is the thing alloyed because it is heavily associated with magic in Minecraft.
