I like this idea. The simplest way to efficiently implement this idea would be for the game to detect the user's coordinates, pull up a map to determine village placement and structure, and then pull up a satellite image to match some of the world generation to in terms of biome selection, shape, and topography.

A truly accurate and detailed replica would be too complex to achieve, but a general approximation rendered in the style of most Minecraft worlds is doable. It isn't practical to add detailed and accurate city or country replicas in except as part of a preexisting world where the spawn point can be placed at a point in said model world equivalent to the real world location of the player.

Needless to say I am in favor of the former of the two concepts and would like to see real world map and satellite images translated into Minecraft world generation equivalents.
