As many of you may know, the soul healer item got a major nerf in the last update. It has a longer cooldown and cannot simply heal you to a lesser extent if you don't have enough souls. This was done because it was believed to be an overpowered item.
I strongly disagree with this decision. The soul healer was not overpowered in my opinion, and the recent nerf effectively ruined the item.
The purpose of the soul healer was so you can quickly regenerate health if you kill enough mobs. It was especially useful if you were surrounded, which can be a serious and common problem in this game. If you didn't kill enough mobs, it would simply heal you less than it normally would.
The new functionality removes that purpose and renders the soul healer virtually useless. It has to charge up and even then you may not have enough souls to heal. As such, it is easy to lose all of your lives due to being cornered and the only way to counteract this is with an insanely fast item like fighter's bindings, which doesn't respect all play styles.
I suggest reverting or decreasing the nerf to give the soul healer back proper functionality and make it useful again.
