Now that there's a piglin variant that guards the bastions, why not a hoglin variant that does the same? Unlike the Nether fortress which has two unique mobs, the bastion only has one unique mob. Why not give it another unique mob with unique behavior? It doesn't even have to be called a "Hoglin Brute".
Piglin brutes are resilient and have a good taste in weaponry, weilding an axe and a whopping 45 health. Hoglin "brutes" are very different, as they are heavily armored, and talented at projecting their formidable body weight. Piglin brutes have poor eyesight, but hoglin "brutes" move twice as slowly, as a balanced and unique downside. Piglin brutes like to stay in the same place, even in the face of repellant blocks, and so do hoglin "brutes", but for a very different reason. Perhaps the hoglin "brutes" are trained to handle the smell of warped fungus, or maybe it's because they're too lazy to move. Lastly, hoglin "brutes" are not hunted by piglins.
Hoglin "brutes" have 40 health like normal hoglins, but they also have armor equal to a full set of iron, along with 4 armor toughness and complete knockback resistance. They attack 50% slower than normal hoglins, but deal 50% more damage and 3 times more knockback, so prepare for flight when getting hit by one of those things. They can also ridden by piglins if there's enough space, and melee piglins gain extra reach so they could hit you (like vindicators on ravagers). On death, they drop a saddle along with normal hoglin drops.
