"Come, gather around, friends," says the librarian. "for i have a story to tell you."
so, i think villagers should have folktales/ legends. in the "afternoon", the village children will gather in the library, if there is one, and sit around the librarian. the librarian will tell the children one of three different stories. stories of monsters that can either help or harm a villager. there are five monsters. one in each village biome. the biome determines the monster that appears in the story. there are three stories for each monster.
the monsters and their respective biomes are:
an ice hairy creature- tundra
a woodland werewolf- taiga
a water monster- plains
a mountain crawler- Savannah
a large sand worm- desert
the stories have one of these things in each one
story one- two child villagers go out and encounter the monster who attacks them or warns them to go back home
story two- a villager who is lost is guided back home by the aforementioned monster
story three- a villager are being attacked by an illager, but the monster comes and saves them from
how are you able to get these legends? well the librarians themselves. in one of the later trades, the librarian will give you one of these stories for a large sum of emeralds in the master level. you can combine all stories together into a book called "myths and monsters of the village.
some things can be changed here but i think this would add a little bit of interest into villages and make them feel a little bit more lively. but i like it
