A sitting option for baby slimes

Lots of people are keeping baby slimes as pets. They don't attack you (even though they are classed as hostile mobs) and they follow you around. They also don't get attacked by other mobs that you fight. Unfortunately, they don't have a sitting option and players have to lock them in a pen or a cage if they don't want the slime to follow them. I think that Mojang should embrace the idea of keeping them as pets and add an option to have them sit. The way that you could be able to tell when they are sitting is if they stop bouncing. I think that this is a great idea for a "stay at home" slime.
