Clouds should be used to predict weather

I think that when a storm will soon approach, clouds should grow closer together and appear darker, but there would be very few clouds in the sky when weather will be clear for a while. Obviously, Mojang will have to make changes to how the weather system works instead of just randomly plopping in weather, so perhaps they make a system that chooses a weather type to "brew" and then waits a few minutes, producing new cloud shapes while waiting, and then a storm ensues.
