Piglins should not hunt hoglins

Piglins shouldn't hunt hoglins! It's like race of humans surviving off only monkeys, it makes no sense. Yeah some tribes of humans will hunt some monkeys, but it's gross. There's one race of hog in the Nether and its obvious where the Piglins evolved from, but they're gonna eat their evolutionary source?  If so then it's safe to conclude the hoglins are also cannabilistic, because how else did the Piglins get a taste for pork? Think about it!

Pigs & bores are omnivores and eat mostly bugs and plants. Can't you add bugs or some other food source for them, can't they be vegetarians and live off the fungus? Pigs love mushrooms, why not add truffles to the nether? Piglins hunting hoglins is just sad and doesn't seem well thought out. 

 

That being said I do love the Piglins. I always wanted to know where the zombie pigmen came from, and thought if you ever added a sentient species they should be pig like.

    Its a sandbox game not freaking science class

    Also if you have a problem with this why not the fact that the piglins will starve without the meat from the hogs

    It is the nether it is meant to be hell like having to eat your evolutional source isnt to unlikely

    You want to be super scientific, go ahead,

     

    Pigs IRL are omnivores yes, but are known for cannabalizing its perfectly logical that the pigs would eat other pig related animals because pigs eat pretty much anything

    of which their are 3 food sources in the nether

    warped fungus (striders eat those)

    the red shroom (i forgot what their called but hoglins eat those)

    Raw pork ( taken from killed hoglins, consumed by piglins, players, and tamed wolves
