Ticks themselves are not displayed in the game, but when walking on grass there is a 10% chance that the tick will cling to you. It will fill one slot of armor (which was empty at that time) and every minute takes half a heart. Armor cannot be worn on a slot with a tick. The tick can be broken, but if you break it you will have the effect of nausea for 2 minutes.
