Random modifiers could be a good thing, so to add variety to the dungeons, such as making undead do more damage and/or take more damage, or making ranged attacks do more damage and more arrows drop, or one where artefacts cool down quicker but melee does less damage. Modifiers would force the player to adapt and change their loadout to fit the dungeon and give more replayability and add some 'spice' to the repetitive level structure.
