Screen Safe Zone

The edges of the HUD and UI go off the edges of my screen.

    Even though the HUD doesn't go off-screen for me, I'd still like it to be a bit closer to the center. Not having to look all the way at the edge of the screen when checking my hotbar or potion effects would make the game more comfortable to play.

    me too, this needs to be in settings, i can't see my souls or level bar unless my HUD is huge and still I can barely see them

    If you mean for Bedrock this already exist :) you find it under Settings -> Video and scroll down to a button named "Change screen safe area"

    I have an iPad Pro, when I load Minecraft is tells me to set the safe screen area but the corners of the box do not represent my screen and there is no way to correct this. Does anyone know how I fix this?

    my HUD is too close to the centere. i can change it on my ps4 settings but i can't have my gui small. in my videos i have to crop it to have my hotbar at the bottom

    I’m on mobile and I messed up my screen safe zone and I can’t see the edges anymore.

    Hello Mojang, the screen safe zone should be an adjustable setting in the video section. This would allow for the change to be temporary not permanent. Please remember that sometimes the players might set it too big and cant see their health and hunger, or it could be too close to the centre of the screen.

    Seems that the screen safe zone used to be an adjustable setting in the video section. When I went to find this setting it was missing. (i am on xbox bedrock)
    Amy chance this will he added back. Currently my wife cant see how many items she has with her UI.

    on my iPad mini 6 the screen safe area box just never fits.

    I have this problem for Mobile too, i’m on an iPad Pro and the screen safe area does not fit the corners of the screen.

    This has been a problem for me for so long on ps4,playing the game with my safe zone far out I no longer enjoy playing the game I can’t see stat effects or most messages in the realms pack.

    The only solution I’ve found to fix the issue on mobile (I am on a 2021 12.9” iPad Pro) is to uninstall and reinstall the game. This will prompt you to adjust the screen border once you open the app for the first time after download. I made the border as small as possible. This made it so I can see everything (coordinates, chat, etc). Hope this helps!

    I just got a new iPad and when this “Safe Area” thing showed up I exited out of my iPad for a moment and accident hit confirm. Now everything is weird when I play and I can’t fix this in settings.

    I just got a new iPad and when this safe zone thing popped up I accidentally set it outside my screen and pressed confirm. Now, some buttons are only half on the screen and it’s hard to push them. I looked in setting and can’t find a way to change this. Also, the four corners don’t conform perfectly to the border of my screen.

    I can’t tell what I’m reading sometimes bc mincraft goes off my screen, if y’all put a safe zone in mincraft it would be rly helpful not for just me for a lot of other people. Please

    It’s not necessarily an issue about the screen safe zone, but would it be possible to have an option on the settings menu that allows you to change the… shape of the screen? Minecraft takes up the whole screen of any device, but on the iPad Pro, the game looks like it’s being played on a square monitor with everything all packed into the middle. I was wondering if Minecraft could have an option of either having the game touch all the borders or having the natural rectangle shape that it has on PC, Xbox, and most mobile devices (that aren’t squares). Thank you so much and this game is absolutely amazing!

    As it’s still not in options, here’s a workaround on iOS:
    -Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Minecraft
    - To the right of documents, click EDIT
    - Delete options.txt
    - Select DONE

    on Ipad Air 2024 M2, IOS 17.5.1 there is no longer a Change Screen Safe Area in the video options.
    Minecraft build Version: v1.20.81 Build 24130105.
    The Top UI is miss aligned and haft off screen and cannot through any of the settings be re aligned.
    There are multiple forum posts and reddit pages with the same issue across many versions all with comments and complaints that this is still unresolved for months if not years. Sort it out.

    It's a still an issue for playing game with trigger buttons. When u put 2 trigger buttons to your smartphone u have to move some buttons(attack, sprint etc.) to the top of the screen, but because of the screen safe zone u can't.

    Tried all settings like UI scale, different control layout but can't figure it out.
