I always found it weird that Chicken could spawn in the Nether as part of Chicken Jockeys, sometimes the Jockey dies which leads to there just being a Chicken wandering around in the Nether. So, I propose a new replacement for all Nether chickenry: the Netherfowl!
I imagine it'd be a blue pheasant-like mob with crimson highlights, and besides spawning as part of a jockey, it'd seldom spawn in the matching Warped Forest biome (it's pretty barren at the moment). It behaves much like a chicken, however, unlike chickens, it doesn't lay eggs, and can only be bred using Nether Sprouts or Roots, it is also immune to fire damage. Otherwise it is identical to a chicken.
As for its drops it'd drop 0-1 Raw Chicken (you can't automatically cook it since it is immune to fire damage), and 1-6 feathers (which'd explain how Piglins got all those arrows).
You might be thinking: "Another source of food in the Nether? Food in the Nether is supposed to be scarce!" And you'd be right, which is why I suggest making it fire-resistant, the idea is that you can't just use fire/lava to automatically cook it, and since Raw Chicken is a pretty lackluster food item, it wouldn't be overpowered. Not to mention you can't farm it as easily.
