Trees in a crimson or warped forest should have a different shade of plank colour, with two options of the current colour, or a lighter version. Like the crimson planks having the currant maroon colour, or having a rare chance at being a normal shade of generic red. The warped planks would have a chance of having a more green tint sometimes. This could probably be achieved by just having multiple textures for those wood materials that are randomly chose upon original generation of the stem, then the crafted items have a tag that says something like were red 0(false) or 1(true) and were maroon 0 or 1. This would determine the shade of the crafted items. The same would go for the warped planks. Were blue 0 or 1 and were cyan 0 or 1. This could also be done by having separate tree types that can grow from the same sapling type. They would generate the same way the normal ones do, and every thing would have the same name, it would just be a different colour. This would just be aesthetic and would benefit people who want bright red planks for things like farmhouses. It would be another way to get some more wood colours. Perhaps there could be shade variations in normal overworld trees too, but that would be complicated. It would be pleasing to look at and the different shades would be stored in different stacks. The bark would have slight variation so you could tell which tree is which shade.
