The stone cutter is a very odd block in its design. Being only bigger than a slab but shorter than the average block with a saw blade at the top, this design choice makes the stone cutter difficult to place in your home or even your town. This wasn't the case when the cutter was in the Pocket Edition of the game as it could be placed and fit in with all the other blocks such as the furnace and crafting table. I suggest turning the cutter into a full block and add a new texture to it.
