there are a multitude of entities in the game, from hostile mobs like zombies and creepers to neutral like wolves, villagers and pigs. But, there are also static entities from armor stands to item frames. All these different entities should be put under different categories. The reason behind this stems from accidents when using the /kill command going out of control and killing everything from maps to pets. To prevent such accidents, all the entity types should be split up into their own respected group
an example of this could be @e[category=passive/item/hostile/static] where if someone accidentally used /kill they would have to specify what type of entity was needed to be killed instead of wiping out all the entities on the world.
