The reason I think we should be able to specify which entity individually, is because I do not believe that all 'mob griefing' necessarily falls under the same category. For example, currently turning off mob griefing has all of the following effects:
- Creepers cannot break blocks upon detonation, zombies cannot break doors, enderman cannot pick up blocks, ghast fireballs cannot break blocks upon impact, withers cannot break blocks in their path (or explode them on wither skull impact), the Ender Dragon cannot break blocks, Villagers cannot break crops (which coincidentally prevents breeding), Snow Golems cannot place snow, and Ravagers cannot break leaves/grass/crops/etc..
Now, the reasoning for why I think these should be separate options is simple; I quite enjoy the aspect of Creepers, Ghasts, and Withers being able to blow things up, it presents a challenge, and it is also predictable. I, the player, can interact with these creatures and prevent them from destroying my world. I cannot, however, do the same with Enderman or Ravagers. They can destroy the terrain, including any terraforming or landscaping that I have done, and I have no way of really predicting or preventing them from doing so, until it is far too late. Unfortunately, if I want to disable them, I also lose other valuable aspects of gameplay, such as the challenges explosive mobs present, or natural villager breeding. Which I believe is not an acceptable comprimise.
