The Moorhen

The moorhen spawn in groups of 2-4 in river biomes and swamp, but not frozen rivers. They always spawn near sugar cane. Moorhen can be bred with sugarcane and produce 2-3 young. Moorhen are also attacked by foxes and wolves. Naturally moorhen have 2 hearts but once tamed with any seed, they have 5. Moorhen are unique because you can give them most plants, which they will eat, and they will take you to the place where the plant grows, given it is within 3000 blocks and is a loaded chunk. E.g., you give them bamboo, they will go to bamboo in a visited jungle. They have to be fed along the journey and may take a lot of food. Moorhen drop 1-2 feathers when killed and have a 60% chance to drop sugar cane. Lastly, moorhen can only be used to find visited places in the over world, not in the nether or end. 

Just to make things clear, moorhen are not, in this, an ‘eye of ender’ for certain structures or places. They will only help you get back to lost parts of your world. Thanks, I hope you like the suggestion.
