Lost fossil dig sites

I've noticed that there are fossils which generate in caves in the soul sand valley. Who dug out these caves? Maybe lost miners from ancient times dug out the caves but never returned home with the fossils they found. The miners could be a group of undead skeletons who wear armor and wield powerful bows and maybe even gold or netherite swords, protecting their finds and their chests containing gold, soul sand, netherrack, blackstone, varius tools and weapons, saddles, ancient debris, and even more rare loot.

    There could be an achievement in the game that could be finding a fossil

    I think having areas showing the excavation of fossils might be cool, wither or not they have exclusive mobs is up in the air

    Update:
    Maybe some kind of special helmet that gives you mild night vision under certain circumstances. A sortof Turtle Shell for the underground.
