Octopus Goblins? Octopus Goblins!

So I commented the following on the original "Octopuses" thread, but I love the little concept I came up with and had some more to possibly add so here we go :)

Instead of throwing the octopus in the oceans of the overworld to most likely overshadow the old, poor squid, how about the lava lakes or even roofs of the nether? We have yet to have any normal, real-world animals be added to the other dimensions so it could be interesting. It for sure wouldn't just be a normal octopus but obviously a much more, devilish one of course. I think an eight-armed goblin that camouflages as nearby blocks as he sneaks up and steals the treasure out of your inventory only to run towards fire and lava and sit in the middle where he knows you can't get him. They could spawn in groups of 1-3 only on occasion in the nether wastes. Once close enough, they would splatter you with a firework of bright blue, green, or rainbow particle ink and run off giggling. It would be neat as well if you manage to catch one creeping on you, throwing some precious loot towards it could possibly tame it, giving you a little familiar that would scare off any other tricksters that dare prey on you!

    I love this! I feel like them stealing items is a little too frustrating, but perhaps them hitting you for half a heart might make sense, mostly for the knocking factor of getting hit. Its not a huge drawback but it is harmfull and if your near lave, its has potential to kill, but it might not happen often. Seeing this is a nether mob it might be cool to tame them with a golden apple or something. I do like the idea of them being tricksters though so im not sure how that could be kept if you get rid of theft. Perhaps instead its just easier to get your stuff back, maybe by cornering them they throw it back?

    I really really don’t want to deal with mobs that steal items from you, but I do think maybe they could just hit you. It would be even more evil if they could see you from further away if you have really low health!
