The newest snapshot introduced the Zoglin. To make a Zoglin useful, I think we can use a nether paste and a golden carrot to cure it. The cured Zoglin will be tamed.
The cured Zoglin should turn into a new mob. The new mob will not turn into Zoglin again and the Zoglin should be able to ride and it will not attack mobs. The Hoglin should be slower than horse but faster than pigs. The Hoglin also drown in water and take damage in it too. The Hoglin will attack mobs that attacked the player but it will attack the player if the player attack it, even it is tamed.
To ride the mob, you should use a golden crimison fungi on a stick and a saddle. The mob can use Zoglin armor which can be found in Nether fortresses.
To craft a Golden Crimson Fungi on a stick you need to make a golden Crimson Fungi which can be crafted like a golden carrot and crafted like a carrot on a stick.
A nether paste can be made with using a bottle with the warped wood, than cook it with a furnace (cooked nether juice), and combine it with magma cream. If the player use the bottle with warped wood, The wood will turn into stripped warped wood, and the bottle should be filled with nether juice.
