The Moonbird: A Powerful Endgame Aerial Battle!

On nights of a full moon, fly higher into the sky than you've ever flown before to find a powerful foe awaiting your arrival... The Moonbird!

The Moonbird is a new boss that acts as endgame content for people with Elytras. It spawns when a player goes past Y = 500 on the night of a full moon. The Moonbird will swoop down, and start flying away from the player at about 70% the max speed of an Elytra, but it gets a brief speed boost when hit, ensuring a fun and fast chase. It has a variety of attacks that it uses to knock the player out of the air. For example:

-It can do an elegant loop through the air while shooting out somewhat inaccurate rod-shaped projectiles in quick succession.

-It can scream out, disabling the Elytras of any player within 10 blocks.

-It can throw feathers out behind it that inflict poison for a short time.

-It can do an aileron roll, which deals damage to any player that gets too close or attacks it during the animation, and knocks them away.

If the Moonbird is defeated, it will spiral to the ground, then drop a Moon Feather, which can be used to craft a powerful endgame item.

If the Moonbird gets too far away (probably about 150 blocks from a player), it will wait a moment, then swoop up into the sky and despawn.

Only one Moonbird can be spawned per full moon.

    Moon feather can be combined with elytra at blacksmith table to make Moon elytra (needs better title) and is combo between iron chestplate and elytra and can have protection

    This is a great idea for a boss. Its a very creative way to make sure players probably won't accidentally engage the boss. Also an overworld boss is overdue. Good suggestion.

    I love this boss idea! I think you've balanced it pretty well too! One thing... It seems like disabling elytra would be very OP and annoying. Just a thought. It also shouldn't follow a player to the ground, because that would make it just a normal fight. I like the idea of it spiraling to the ground when you defeat it, and I think it would be cool if it was screaming and spewing xp the whole way down. And the moon feather... what if when you held it, you could jump boost into the air really big? I'm thinking like a rocket with an elytra, but you get to use a feather to have an easy take-off. Just a thought. It should provide some kind of epic elytra upgrade/boost/thing though.
