There should be a new mob called the Muncher. The Muncher will look like a group of tiny black insects, because one tiny black insect can't be a mob itself because it will be too small. The Muncher will be about the size of a small slime, and will spawn in forests. The Muncher will be a hostile mob, have only three to five health points, but won't do any direct damage. Munchers will try to walk through any nearby passive mobs or players. When the Muncher walks through the mob or player, it will give the mob or player a new effect called "Itchy" for ten secconds. Anything that has the Itchy effect will continuously jump up and down nonstop until the effect wears off. The Muncher will also target tall grass, melons, pumpkins, berries, ferns, flowers, and plants. The Muncher will then "eat" whatever they targeted, which means that they are a crop's enemy. Another small feature that should be added with the Muncher is the ability to tame Bats with sweet berries. When tamed, they will follow you around until you make them hang on a ceiling (the bat's version of sitting). Munchers will avoid nearby bats or spiders because they are the enemies of the Munchers.
This will be a great feature to Minecraft because
a. it gives the forest a brand new monster
b. It creates a cool new effect
c. It gives bats a use
and
d. It makes crops more vulnerable to the wilderness
