When enabled, what players in the "spectator" gamemode type into the chat box will only be sent to other spectators. These messages will appear the similarly to how the /msg command works, with the messages starting with: "[player-name] whispers: " in light-grey letters.
Whenever a spectator attempts to type a command, players that are not spectators will not be valid targets for commands like /msg, /tell, /tellraw, etc.
This gamerule will be useful for:
- Preventing players from using spectator accounts to help other players cheat, whether it be in a mini-game or general minecraft
- Allowing spectators to talk to one another without spoiling the game for other players
- Improving the overall quality and professionalism of multi-player maps
