The normal cobblestone boxes with two chests and a spawner that you can find underground can be quite, lackluster. That is why they should be reworked to a bigger, (and more plentiful), structure! For example, have the radius of the box be like 7x bigger, and add 2 layers, so there's a total of three layers. Spread spawners across each level but have different variants of spawners each level. You could find a total of 3-5 chests with good loot, (it gets better the farther down you go). Once you're at the bottom level, the hardest, there will be 2 chests and 1 double chest guarded by a "force field" that is unbreakable. To open the field, you must find a key to put in a item frame under it that would disable the shield, (It would be called the "Skeleton Key". It would randomly generate 1 in one of the chests throughout the dungeon, to encourage going through every level. The double chest would have fairly good loot and possibly even a new "dungeon-specific" drop, such as a "Skeleton Sword" Which would do as much damage as a diamond sword, and would be incredibly strong against skeletal creatures. That's my idea for a rework, but anything could be changed that would make it better because it is 10 years old and NEEDS to get something new, even if it's spawn rate would have to be lowered, like as much as a sea temple, it would still be incredibly fun to get a new twist on something that currently isn't too fascinating right now, thank you for your time.
