One of my biggest frustrations that probably won't be addressed in this update is that nether fog really limits what you can do with a large scale build. Nether generation creates these incredible, massive empty spaces which I've always wanted to use for some enormous build, but the entire point is lost if you can't see how big the build is because fog gets in the way. The easiest solution would be to just give the player control over fog, but since this feature has been requested repeatedly since the beginning of the game I'll assume there is some complicated technical reason it can't be easily added.
However, another feature that would be nice to have in general could also solve this problem. It's already possible to use that awesome Nether world generation in the overworld by creating a buffet world and selecting cave generation. This solves the fog problem, but cave generation buffet worlds have even more issues. Because the overworld lacks the ambient lighting of the nether, still generates water at the normal sea level even when using a nether biome, and always uses stone under whatever the biome specific surface blocks are, cave worlds are really hard to work with.
What I would LOVE to see is three little toggles in the buffet world menu, the first labeled "Use Nether Lighting", the second labeled "Lava Seas", and the third labeled "Netherrack Ground". Even if only the latter two can be added, that would still be fantastic.
