This might be a feature on “hard” and “hardcore”, because let’s be honest minecraft’s too easy now. Hostile mobs should focus on player made structures and “lay siege”. A leader and follower system like the illagers could be established between mobs that see the player structures with them relaying this info to other mobs and etc”. The bigger the concentration of blocks (especially processed blocks like smoothstone, stone bricks, oak planks etc”), the more inclined they are to attack it. This should go without saying that mobs should also have a higher awareness of where the player is, by giving a larger radius. This will make the construction of walls necessary, and may entice the players to play more carefully.
