The Piglin mobs announced during Minecon Earth 2019 function as a villager replacement for the Nether. Baby Piglins could add a new spin on trading, Help Differentiate Piglins from being like Nether-Villagers, and create a level of trading optimisation for meta-game players, if they were added in the right way.
The Baby Piglins should barter like the adults (differentiating them from villagers), but often give undesirable results. However, they could on occasion give very rare items to the player, emulating the tendency of a child to judge things based on personal value rather than real-world value. Trading with a Baby Piglin also 'tames' them, removing their aggressive behaviour towards the player, or even making them protective. This would add to the immersion of the game, making the Aggressive Piglins seem more human in thought and giving them more perceived feelings.
Baby Piglins would also run away from a player who kills a nearby Piglin or attacks them- afterwich, that Piglin would refuse to trade with that player.
