Items you pick up should be sorted from top-left

Currently if you pick up an item when your hotbar isn't full, it will be placed there from left to right. If your hotbar is full, it will be placed in your inventory from top-left to bottom-right.

I think it would be better if the items you pick up gets placed in the inventory first instead of the hotbar.

Why? Well there's no particular reason, its just that I like keeping my hotbar tidy and leave an empty slot for right clicking.

Its a little annoying when you pick up a useless item and it shows up on your hotbar first. It wouldn't hurt to have an option for this.
