After the Piglins were revealed on this year Minecon I came up with idea of something similar but in the Overworld -the Azcats. They will be living in the jungle biomes(this areas don't have any villagers presence so putting them there is good idea in my opinion).Azcats are neutral mobs that attack anything that gets to close and acts very hostile towards villagers.
If player wants to interacts with them he must be holding AZCAT'S OFFERING(craftable item) in hand and give it to one of them then by giving some food and precious(for Azcats) items you will gain their trust.
After that player get access to new crafting recipes like Azcat's armor set,new bow,Azcat's spear(?) and shrine workbench(4x4 crafting space needed for Azcat's craftings).Maybe there should be some new crops that they farm(corn) or fruits that they gather(mangos or bananas).I think that is all for now say what you thinking
