Nether Portal

I think you should change the color of the Nether portal, because black and purple seem like Ender colors. I think you should keep the obsidian, but change the portal color to one of the following: red, orange, red and blue, blue and orange, or red and orange. You can change it to any color, just not puple.

I personally like the Nether Portal the way it is. It gives off a classic portal vibe. And I don't think Red would fit the portal much, though it would be nice to see something that resembles the Nether Reactor Core, from Bedrock.
