    This isn't a bug. It's intended to be a visual cue to when your tool takes a durability hit. Notice how much less it happens with an unbreaking 3 tool. It's a nice feature.

    Because it's basically the same as https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-5368

    Very annoying; that animation is for obtaining new items, not breaking blocks.
