Darkness (especially in caves)

     In my experience caving, I've discovered that one hardly needs to place a torch to be able to see, even in the darkest recesses of the cave.  Granted, it's harder to see without light, and torches ward away the monsters -- but I've often run out of torches in the middle of a mining expedition only to keep going unhindered, thinking in the back of my mind "this shouldn't be able to work".  I remember a caving trip I took where the tour guide turned out the lights at the back of the cave.  Pitch black.  But Minecraft caves just don't give that same sense of mystery and darkness.

    You can already do this by changing the brightness value. If you already have it at the darkest, then you can edit the options.txt to set it even darker. If you don't know how to, use google! ^w^

    Thank you!  I was already aware of the brightness value, and the options.txt file doesn't go any lower than what is available in the options menu (that I have found).  This still does help a lot, but it also affects the light above ground a bit, and even with moody graphics you don't get the total darkness like real caves have.  I really can't complain much as it is not a big problem, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
