huge support. not enough people are talking about this issue and i can't believe neither Microsoft nor Mojang have done anything about it, especially after removing Notch.

Leave real world issues out of video games, I personally disagree with this idea as it will cause unnecessary drama, theres many other games that are worse then this yet theres people making a huge deal about a creature that isn't even suppose to be offending anyone.

The overall design of the Villagers, yes, but also the fact that they're heavily associated with trading for emeralds, a very rare resource, and are often characterized as greedy. That feels like it, unfortunately, ties into the stereotype of Jewish people being greedy.

The comparison between the design of Villagers and antisemitic caricatures is also worsened when you consider that they make use of golems - golems being a part of Jewish culture. I realize that renaming the golems is likely out of the question, considering existing guidelines, but honestly, a redesign of the Villagers would be greatly appreciated.

The Golems could also be changed to be called Constructs, like Iron Construct, Snow Construct, Copper Construct etc. By redesigning the Villagers we could have more variations other than just Job differences.

I agree. Notch is a known antisemite and it shows with the designs of the villagers(they don't look similar to the dungeon master merchant at all) and their association with Golems. Minecraft should be welcoming to all. At the very least their nose and arm position should be changed.

Y'all already said a lot, but not only are Villagers aesthetically antisemitic, not only are they characterized as greedy traders, but on top of all that, they use golems to protect their territory. Golems are Jewish cultural beings. Knowing Notch's reputation, I strongly believe he really intentionally made the Villagers this way and I hope Microsoft takes note one day.

Yes, agree wholeheartedly. I'll acknowledge my bias, I've always hated the villager designs ever since they were introduced to the game (especially since we were promised pigmen as villagers)

It sort of baffles me how its considered a reach to see the antisemitism in the designs,

the way they have their arms together, the huge noses, the obsession with trading rare resources and the fact they are guarded by a creature from Jewish folklore. Considering Notch's reputation there is no way it wasn't intentional.
