Netherwart forest should be shaped differently than trees

The netherforest we have been shown at minecon, includes new magma-netherwart looking block that is in the form of a log for a tree that has netherwart as if its growing on the log like leaf.
In other words, it looks like a tree, some people even suspected that the new block is a new "log" because of that.
I suggest that the shape should be different than that of a tree, it doesn't make sense that netherwart blocks are growing like leaf, neither a tree shape in nether.
There is potential to make more bizarre looking shapes since it is the nether and has no relation to trees' shapes.
