The Nether Golem is a hostile creature that lives in the Nether. It wouldn't be part of the new biomes announced, and wouldn't be part of Soul Sand but would be part of netherrack itself. This creature hides in a normal area of netherrack, but when players walk over or are close to the golem, it rises from the ground. A cool little animation of the Golem rising is played, with sounds. The golem then attempts to kill the player. It can throw blocks on the ground at the player and do a "Fire stomp" attack. This will knock the player back, and inflict fire damage. When succeeding on killing the player, or the player escaping out of it's persistence zone, it will bury itself back in the netherrack, and wait to be found again.
As for combat against it, shields can deflect the blocks thrown and block the fire stomp, however the player still takes knockback from the fire attack. If lured to the overworld, the golem will die in rain and water. It will have somewhere around the same health as an Iron Golem, which makes sense. This golem is also hostile towards villagers, iron golems, and snow golems. However around piglins and pigmen, the golem will act like an Iron golem and protect them against any other mob. Including other nether mobs. Around baby piglins (if there are going to be babies), it will hold a wither rose, like an Iron Golem does around baby villagers. Additionally if the player is wearing gold armor, the golem will ignore the player like piglins.
