In Australian Aboriginal mythology, the Bunyip is a mythical creature said to reside in swamps and creeks. Bunyips would be an aggressive mob that reside in swamp biomes, and their behavior is stalking their prey from behind and strike when the prey is not looking. There are a plethora of physical descriptions of Bunyips so it is up to Mojang to decide what they will use :). Bunyips also lay eggs and players would mistake them as chicken eggs, and they have the ability to hatch when they are in your inventory or they are stored in a chest, ender chest, shulker box, etc. Also according to an Australian myth, the Bunyip ate the rainbow serpent's animal totems, so in-game, the Bunyip possesses the ability to eat totems of undying making it an annoying mob to come across to. Bunyips drop leather, but it can also drop feathers because some descriptions portray Bunyips as bird-like creatures. Also, Bunyip spawnrates depend on the difficulty, if it is in hard mode, then they spawn more often to balance things out. This mob doesn't only hunt down players, but other mobs aswell like livestock, pets, and villagers. The main purpose of this mob is to give the swamp biome a little bit of a challenge when navigating this biome since it can devour your totems of undying which is a hard item to obtain, and to give this biome more life, hostile life.
