The Kea is the world's only species of alpine parrot and are endemic to New Zealand. Now imagine climbing to the top of an extreme hill biome or a snowy mountain, and finding a group of playful parrots flying around and playing with each other. Like their real life counterpart, they would take extreme interest in you, following you around, landing on your head and possibly stealing any meat or vegetable food you have on you. If you drop an item, all the Kea would start playing with it, flying up and dropping it or throwing it to each other. Drop meat or veges and they will snatch it and run away to eat by themselves. They will eat seeds, fruit, vegetables, fish and meat. You will be able to tame Kea and train them to do certain things like drop an item onto a pressure plate that will activate something, but they will only do it if they know there will be a food reward. There can also be a rare chance that they spawn in a spruce biome. If you take a tamed Kea with you on your travels, they might just dig up a few special items for you. This can range from a used bow to an iron nugget to an emerald. You would have to exchange the item for food, similar to the fox. When killed, Kea will drop feathers.
