Even if it's just an aesthetic thing, that would definitely be a pretty cool addition!

Or: honeycomb layers outside and honey inside (magma cube -like)

This would make sense since the honey block is similar to the slime block

Mobs could stick to Honey slimes (except slimes)

Maybe it could steal honey from bees? That could be how it got covered in honey!

It would be cool if the only way to kill it is by bottling it up.

    Possible Mechanics:

Slimes start out at different sizes; honey slimes start out only as mini. They'd spawn in groups of 1-3 around full bees nests in a slime chunk. Mini HS can be killed, but with no loot.

If two or more mini HS bounce into each other, they can merge into a larger size; from Small => Medium => Large. Small and up can drop loot, but there's a twist.

When HS are killed, honeycombs will drop. Maybe rates of 1-2,-2-4, and 3-7 for S,M, and L. The "Looting" enchantment can affect how many honeycombs are dropped.

If the HS is killed while there is an empty bottle in the off hand, the bottle will fill up with honey. The "Looting" enchantment should not affect this, both for "farm" rates and ease of code.

This would offer an alternative to both honey collection and honeycomb collection. Spawn rates would be low enough that the HS could be farmed, but the rate of honey bottles produced would not be more efficient than current honey and honeycomb farms.

The advantage to honey slime farms would be that the bees nests do not need to be disturbed, fewer bees nests would be needed, and more honeycombs could be produced. However, the player has to be actively involved in the farm, there would be no active bees to pollenate crops, and the farm has to be built in specific biomes/chunks.

Since 1.17 introduces candles, there will be a higher need for honeycomb. Honey slimes would offer players a way to produce more candles, but at a cost.

I have a few suggestions for the mob that would be perfect for it:

    - They are neutral mobs like the Tropical Slime in MC Earth since they're made from something passive

    - They spawn in the Flower Forest Biome

    - They cover the player in slime once attacked slowing them down and making it difficult to jump

And they should also slowly slide on blocks when falling.

It should be able to over time drop its honey and make honey trails, a new block
