Similar to a conduit. Made out of Purpur bricks and obsidian/endstone. Rather than the conduit item in the middle, it could have a new block called an Trapped Wisp. The crafting recipe should be something like this; Obsidian in the shape of the leggings recipe(possibly room for the return of glowing/crying obsidian?), Dragons Breath on the middle-bottom, and a new item in the centre, named Soul of Night. It should be a purple reskin of the Heart of the Sea, or even a completely new design! I feel that it should be more of a post-Ender Dragon thing. It also gives a use to the hard-to-obtain purpur bricks. The obvious effects would be things like absorption, regeneration, swiftness etc. These would all work fine. BUT. It's a bit unoriginal don't you think? Maybe it could give you completely new effects, such as Life-Steal and Luck, meaning that mobs you kill have a 1-2% chance of dropping a spawn egg/head. You could get forcefully turned into a Werewolf on a full moon. This could give you super high levels ofswiftness, force you to move on 4 legs, and kill passive mobs without having any control over it (a bit of wishful thinking, but oh well). Possibly illumination of hostile mobs through blocks, even. You would always have the hunger effect though, like when you eat rotten flesh or raw chicken, except more powerful.
I understand this would be a lot of work, but imagine the possibilities! In a game based on creativity, I feel like this would be an amazing addition to the game.
