Taneable mobs should have a "wander" option

Tameable mobs in minecraft can now do two things: sit, or follow you. But sometimes you want them to walk around without having to worry about them following you and falling into lava. I think that a "wandering" option and maybe a "defending" option would be a good idea. When you put them into this mode they would walk around the area without going too far away, and especially combined with better AI this would be really cool. I think that having your pets sit down all day is a bit boring.

    I hate it when I get attacked by zombies while my dogs sit there and watch me get tortured. If they could wander around without me having to worry about them following me would be great!
