It's unlikely this will ever be changed due to the nether roof not being something you're supposed to access in vanilla survival, but it would be very cool to see

If that’s the case why can java have out of this nether nether hubs while bedrock barely has out of this over world hubs? My pleasure on the pun btw

Also nether portals can now link to ceiling in java.  This should be in bedrock

I don’t think they understand how useful building on the roof is. It makes traveling and transporting things 8x faster and easier. It would help a lot if you could build portals and link them on top. I was able to break through the bedrock and get on top and was disappointed when I could t build my portal

Please add this for bedrock, thank you

This is so frustrating as the build limit in nether is stil y=127 as y=128 is bedrock already and even if we managed to get up over the bedrock, we can't place any blocks. A lot of things that are possible in Java is not in bedrock.

Yea I would like to be able to build on top of the bedrock to build super efficient farms like good farms

You shoulden't be able to build on the nether roof, I think they should raise the roof to 255 blocks instead. That would allow for more nether generation and make the nether not feel so "small". It will also fix the unwanted behaviour of being able to build on the nether roof.

Yes it would be perfect for superfast motorways with no trouble of ghasts

We bedrock players need nether ceiling like Java so we can make nether hub and gold farms above nether

I know, I know, this isn't supposed to be in game. But it's totally not fair! Java players have acess to hundreds of efficient farms and super fast transport systems, while we Bedrock players have to be content with inefficient systems that aren't even worth the cost to build them.

I’m sad I can’t build there in bedrock I know it is a glitch but please add it it makes bedrock a little more even to Java

I feel that you should expand the description...but I 100% agree with you! We should be able to build on the nether roof, I hate having to slab entire areas of the nether for farms that can be built with half the effort on java! (For those wondering why I can't just play Java, I play on Xbox)

Yes this will be a great feature but Mojang is probably going to remove it from Java instead of adding it to Bedrock

That was actually not an intended feature. You were never meant to get to the nether roof, but it is kept because people use it a lot, and removing it would break things. It was never implemented into Bedrock because it was never meant to be added in the first place.

Bro, the top of the nether isn’t disegned to build, that’s why is a bedrock leyer that is supposed to make players don’t pass trough.

This was originally removed from bedrock as a bug (MCPE-18263) in version 0.17.0.1(reason bedrock originally was behind one version), it was never removed from java, because it would destroy a lot of things people have built on the roof. They should realistically make it a feature as opposed to an accidental* feature instead of patch the bug in java, it be easier to add it to bedrock than remove it from java and get a lot of backlash from the community.

Also, the reason the nether is so small is due to the old world sizes (when it was introduced) was only 128 blocks tall.

*An accidental feature is when a bug is so widely used to create things that if it was to be patched it would cause massive backlash from the community

    • Another thing, if they were going to remove this from Java then why allow portals to link to the nether roof in Java?

When mojang fixed portal linking at the nether ceiling on java, it made official a feature, so ita unfair to not reach parity on this game changing feature

I really hope it gets added cuz it could be useful for creative mode plus I got to the nether roof on my survival world.

unless java is to loose this "feature" then it should be added to bedrock to sync the user experience.

The " it was never removed from java, because it would destroy a lot of things people have built on the roof." reason is weak. as Devs drop / change features often on berdrock that break players worlds/quality of gaming.

I think they may faze this out, as they are going to patch pigmen farms with an alternate farming method, also u misspelt bedrock

Also if you look at my earlier comment:

I tried to paraphrase one of the devs, i can't remember which one mentioned about it

This would be revolutionary for bedrock players to be able to build their nether mega bases on a flat and relatively safe spot in the nether. This must be added, 100%.

Wasn’t this a glitch at first, but then they fixed it?

I could be wrong, but I think the devs don’t want you to be on the top of the nether ceiling.

This would add so many possibilities like gold farms and ghast farms. Travel would be faster and would open opportunities for new things in the game. I would be very happy to see this as I am not able to afford a computer or Java Edition.

Although it's confirmed to be a bug rather than a feature, I agree that this would still be a cool thing to add.

Not even java should be able to honestly. They only can because they're catered to and never had it taken away

This is one parity issue that needs to happen. There is literally no reason not to allow it.

Yes we get it, that it was never meant to work, and that you aren't wasting any time on fixing it in Java.

But since it's not getting fixed in Java, the least you could do is allow it in Bedrock.
