Villagers eating more types of food

Villagers only eating bread, carrots and potatoes really surprised me.... I feel like villagers should be able to eat more food like beetroots, which in theory would make them the most efficient crop for villager breeding.

Some other foods include cooked fish, possibly cooked meats and apples/ maybe for 1.14.5 if that even becomes a thing

  Meat might be difficult to program.  The farmers are actually collecting the crops (and turning wheat into bread), which they store in their inventory and share with other villagers.  Fisher villagers could probably be programmed to actually add fish to their inventory over time while at their job site block, which they could then share with other villagers, but programming butchers to slaughter and breed animals, without accidentally killing all of them, might be a bit finicky.  Maybe they could be programmed to respond to the number of animals inside of a pen - if there are only two adults, breed them, if there's two adults and a baby, leave them alone, and if there's three adults, kill one - but that might be difficult.  Not sure, I suck at programming.
